This FREE online directory has been developed to help parent/carers, adults and other interested parties get in touch with the right professional whether they are searching for a specialist tutor or assessor.
This online directory also meets the needs of the new DSA-QAG validation check for non-medical workers (NMH) in Higher Education.
Users can have the confidence that all the tutors and assessors listed are Professional Members of the BDA and you will be able to see the dyslexia/SpLD qualifications and relevant accreditations that the professional holds.
This list is updated regularly.
To use the Tutor/Assessor Directory you must first register. You can do this by clicking the 'Parent' tab above, or clicking the Register as a Parent button below before visiting the Tutor/Assessor Search page.
We are asking all holders of BDA accreditations (ATS/APS, AMBDA, ATS FE/HE, AMBDA FE/HE, APC, etc.) to register their details on this system. This enables us to ensure our records are as up-to-date and accurate as possible. You will be able to edit, update and delete your record at any time.
There is no charge for this, and your profile will not appear online on the Tutor/Assessor Directory. If you wish to be featured in the online directory you can choose this option when creating your profile. There is yearly charge for this option.
If you are a BDA Professional Member and hold a recognised dyslexia/SpLD qualification you also have the option to create a public profile on the Tutor/Assessor Directory for an annual fee of £15. Once your application is verified by the BDA Accreditation Officer your details will be searchable by those seeking a qualified tutor or assessor, or looking to verify qualifications and accreditations.
(Please note that Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) is a BDA accreditation and is not Professional Membership of the BDA. Individuals who hold AMBDA are amongst those who can apply for BDA Professional Membership).
To create your profile to update our records and/or feature on the online Tutor/Assessor Directory please choose the ‘Tutor’ tab above, or click the 'Register as a Tutor' button below.
The BDA make every effort to ensure that all tutors have valid membership and qualifications.
However, it is the user’s responsibility to check that the practitioner they engage has the appropriate qualifications for the service they require, and that practitioner DBS checks and Indemnity Insurance are up to date.
